Covid-19 precautions and policies:

During the pandemic, sessions will be conducted outside as much as possible. Whether you are in the studio or outside, you will be able to remain at least 6 ft distant from other participants. Masks are not required while exercising outdoors, but you are welcome to wear one as you see fit.

If sessions are conducted within the studio, masks are required for all participants. There is a Covid-19 rated HEPA Filter on full blast at all times, and one of the gym doors will remain open for air-flow.

If you are feeling unwell for any reason, it is best to stay home.

Do I have to be fit to join Adventure Athlete?

No! The Adventure Athlete System can be scaled to match your current fitness level and naturally builds in difficulty as you progress. Each session is tailored so that you are challenged yet confident in your ability to succeed. We train for success, not failure!

Our number one goal is for you to leave each session feeling better than when you started.

We do require that you have some basic movement ability before joining our Small Groups:

  1. You must be able to get up an down off the floor without pain.

  2. You must be able to quickly put on / remove shoes.

  3. Your wrists and ankles should not have any serious impairments, as we do learn skills such as crawling, jumping, and running. However, we do offer non-impact variations in each session.

What Can i expect from an Adventure Athlete Small Group Session?

Each session lasts about 45-60 minutes. Our Small Groups allow for up to 4 participants, not including the coach. Although 4 participants exercise at the same time, you are essentially performing your own personal program that is tailored to your current fitness level.

Every session has 3 major components:

  1. Develop Natural Movement Skills that vary over the course of a year.

  2. Improve general fitness by strengthening the 5 Nutritious Movement Patterns.

  3. Armor the body against injuries by focusing on posture, core strength, and joint health.

As often as possible, sessions will be conducted outdoors during all weather. Barefoot training is encouraged, and many exercises interact with the natural world. Expect a natural amount of dirt, heat/cold , sticks, rocks, and insects.

What happens when the weather is bad?

We will be exercising outdoors in most weather conditions, as long as conditions are safe. Heavy rain, lightning, ice, or extreme cold (below 30 degrees F) will cause sessions to be conducted within our air-conditioned studio.

Do I need to purchase any equipment?

Equipment is provided during each session. However, many clients do purchase a steel mace so that they can practice at home. Typically, women should start with a 7 lb steel mace, and men should start with a 10 lb. I recommend purchasing a Steel Mace from the company Set for Set

What Should I bring to each session?

  1. Water Bottle (There is a Berkey Water Filter in the studio)

  2. COVID-19 Mask

  3. Clothing that you feel comfortable exercising in.

  4. Layers of clothing that can be shed as you warm up.

  5. Shoes that can be quickly removed / put on.

  6. Optional: A yoga mat

  7. Optional: Exercise gloves

Is there a contract?

There is no contract. Sessions are typically purchased in packages of 8 or more, which covers about one month of training.

While there is no financial long-term contract, Adventure Athlete is a system that requires patience and commitment in order to succeed. The reality is that there is no quick fix or 6-week transformation that lasts. Real strength requires years of consistent practice.

Each season focuses on 1-2 of the 9 Natural Movement Skills. Over the course of a year, you will gain proficiency and strength in all 9 skills!

When should I expect to see results?

Adventure Athlete is essentially a physical education program. We go beyond your typical gym workout by focusing on developing practical, efficient Natural Movement Skills.

Our programs work in 6-8 week cycles. You should expect to notice quantifiable improvements in strength, conditioning, and skill within that time.

What is your Cancellation Policy?

Adventure Athlete LLC has a 24-hour cancellation or rescheduling policy for all personal training, online appointments, and fitness consultations. If you cancel or reschedule your appointment less than 24-hours before your scheduled time, you will be responsible for full payment of the appointment/session. If no notice is given at all, payment will be due. Each client is given one free “no show”- meaning you can late cancel once and not be penalized.

We understand that “life happens” and you’re not always able to follow through with your scheduled appointments. Please communicate with us, and we will do our best to work with you!

Refunds, Exchanges, and Session Expiration

The refund policy lasts 30 days. If 30 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately we cannot offer you a refund or exchange. To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging. To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase.

Online, downloadable purchases such as stock programs or training plans are exempt from being returned or refunded.

In-person training sessions (both private and small group) will expire 30 days after their initial purchase date.

Where are you located?

Adventure Athlete is located about 7 minutes from downtown Athens, right off of Nowhere Rd. Because the studio is connected to our home, contact brad@adventureathletefit.com for the specific address before your first session.
